The European Commission
As an independent expert for the European Commission since December 2009, Amruta provides unbiased evaluations for funding decisions of space research under the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme.
Independent consultant
Amruta has been based out of Mumbai since April 2011, from where she freelances as a writer, editor and consultant on space and astronomy topics.

Past roles
The German Aerospace Center, DLR
From Feb 2010 till March 2011, Amruta was the Lead English-language Editor for DLR’s English-language website and magazine. She also acted as a community coordinator for DLR’s English-language social media channels.

The European Space Agency
From March 2007, for almost three years, Amruta was the Editor for the Directorate of Science and Robotic Exploration at the European Space Agency.
She was responsible for written English-language public communication aimed at a wide audience. Her main task was as Editor for the ESA Science site and its subsites, covering about 30 missions.
The most exciting aspect of this job was the live coverage of the Rosetta Earth swingbys and its flyby of asteroid Steins on the Rosetta blog, and the Herschel and Planck launch in May 2009.
